Getting to kefalonia

If you wish to travel independently you can fly with EASYJET or OLYMPIC AIRWAYS from England to Athens.

Easyjet - Flights to Athens

For an overnight stay you may take the bus from the airport to Glyfada (the bus from Pireas). Glyfada is not too far from the airport and the hotels less expensive than the center of Athens. We recommend the hotel OCEANIS, near to the square (25 Grigoriou Lampraki, Glyfada 166-75 Tel.(0030) 210-8944038 / 8946058 / 8946253, Fax. (0030) 210-8981746). You can access other accommodation on the internet. There is a regular train/metro link from the airport to the center of Athens.

This could provide an opportunity to spend some time sight seeing in Athens -the ancient Acropolis, Temples, Museums, the fascinating Old Plaka District and the lovely Cosmopolitan Shopping Area.

From Athens to Kefalonia you may take the daily flight with Olympic Airways or the bus and ferry which also makes a daily journey to the island.

If you prefer to come directly from England to Kefalonia, there are many charter flights during the summer season, (May to October).
