I’m very happy to write this comment on the internet because thousands of people will read it.
I respect people who work hard and try to make their business better. This is Oskars. I want to help Oskars and this is why I’m writing the truth.
Our tour rep with the experienced marketing, two faced smile and sarcastic comments told us that Oskars has too much advertising and gives too many leaflets to tourists.
Oskars gave us a lot of leaflets, we read them and decided to go. Me and my family had the best night of our holiday. The food, the service, the waiters, the dancers, the view and the sunset were the best in Lassi
I want to say to our tour operator and our rep that Oskars is very talented. A good comedian, we like the jokes and the tricks of this Greek man
Oskars gives many advertising papers with clear information. If he does not advertise how would we know where to find him and go. Oskars complex is first class the best I’ve seen in Greece.
My advice to the tourists is to have a look for you and your family for a better holiday.
Go to Oskars and see that these comments are truthful and you will be sure to love oskars like we do.
Also check the poor or good information given by your rep.
I don’t like paying good money for the tour operators commission in return for poor service.

We've just come back from Kefalonia after a great holiday - the people were friendly, the food great, the weather hot and the Island was beautiful.
We stayed at Lassi and we ata in a range of restaurants and we often walked in the evenings after our meal - to work off the calories.
On our second evening after eating in Lassi, we strolled off in the direction of Finari Road and we came upon Oskars and decided to pop in for a drink. We were made to feel very welcome and joined in with the dancing - Greek style. What a great evening. Everyone there had a big smile on their face whether or not they were dancing or not, eating or just having a few drinks like us.
Needless to say we went back there at least 6 times and whether or not we were just having a few drinks or eating the excellent food, we were always made welcome. You definitely walk into Oskars as a stranger but you walk out as a valued friend.
Thank you to everybody at Oskars for making us so welcome and our holiday so special.

My two weeks in Kefalonia are drawing to an end..and I can say that I am very sad to be leaving such a beautiful island, with such wonderful people.

In our first week here we stuck to the beaches and the swimming pool, but in the second we hired a car for four days.

We decided to discover Lassi further afield and headed along Fanari Road towards Argostoli.

Along this road there are many sites to see, the first being the lighthouse. It is a beautiful piece of architecture set on an idyllic peninsula. Also around the lighthouse you can do some snorkelling as the water is so clear and clean.

The next site along Fanari Road is the Waterwheel and the 'Swallow hole' which are worth seeing.

The final tourist site is the war memorial dedicated to the Italian soldiers massacred in WW2.

Not many reps seem to encourage you to go along Fanari road, but I think that it is definitely worth taking the time to discover the many sites that are along the way.

There are also many beaches that should be visited, a great selection that should satisfy all needs. There are quiet beaches, or more crowded ones...but all have extremely breathtakingly clear water. Some examples of these beaches are Kalamia, Gradakia, Mediterranee, Paliostafida (Antonio), Makris Yialos, Platis Yialos and Turkopodaro.

Having spent my 12th time now on the island, i finally decided to walk from Lassi to Argostoli taking the senic route down fanari road. I was suprised at how beautiful it was. The photos i was able to take from different points were out of this world. the sunset was amazing.... the sights are fab, it was such a peaceful and relaxing thing to do, with all the sights you actually end up forgetting that you are walking... i stopped in oskars for about 30 minutes to stock up on water, and the service for that was fantastic... after that i continued to walk, coming across the water wheel and light house, where my sister and myself had photos taken, having a camera is a must, as is a bottle of water, or two!! back home, you will never see anything like this, its such a nice thing to see!!!! well.... i would defo reccommend the walk... but be careful with the heat!!!!! water, and sun cream a must!!!! x

3 weeks and 2 days today I shall just be arriving in Lassi - had a nice surprise yesterday, my sister and her husband have just booked a holiday at the Oskars studios on 13th August so they will be in Lassi at the same time as me!!

got back from Lassi a week ago and had a fantastic time, the weather was scorching and the peeps were great. Stayed in the Emmas near the top of the main road and next to Oskars, so walking home at all hours was easy - its a straight road! Oskars is excellent and the waters remember you so getting served is easy, food is good and you get loads. The apartments were ok. Went with escapades and the nights out were great!

WOOHOO!!! Have a fab holiday!! The weather should be perfect.. wall to wall sunshine.. and temps in the high 30's .You will notice the blast of the heat when you get off the plane!!! It cools down slightly off an evening...but this is the peak time. so be aware it wll be still very warm at night..l ovely for strolling round looking for somewhere nice to eat or drink.. but not very nice for trying to sleep!! Advice is..is use air con.. especially as you have young children!!
Oskars is a nice night out .. and they have and dancers, dancing on traditional costumes.. vary nice for the little ones too.. You might get to dance on yourselves!!! it is only 10 mins from Lassi on foot ..and you can also get a taxi there!! The beach in Lassi is the best in the world, clean..and the sea warm and shallow!! There are better beaches on the island..which you can get to if you hire a car!! Lassi is pretty place with many thinks to see, and if you want to go for a walk with many sea views you can go on the Fanari road.. (where Oskars is located.. where you can make a little stop for a drink)!! Advice is..is to have your camera with you!!
AM sure you will find loads to do..as there have been new things opened even since we were there last..so have a fab time and dont forget to tell us all about it when you ge back!!!

i have been in kefalonia 13 times now and every time i allways do to Oskars, the best on the Island.

If only we had known about Oscars before the last night of our holidays. Best meal of the whole holiday and the staff are the friendliest you could hope for. Entertainment was also superb - be prepared to burn up a few calories.
Andreas works hard to market the restaurant so please do not be put off if he comes up to you on the beach and thrusts a leaflet in your face which advertises Oscars - this is their main means of marketing.
Truely excellent - the highlight of the holiday.

kefalonia is a beautiful island i have been going there for 5 years now. it is a very lovely island. this is where captin c was filmed which makes kefalonia famous lol! joking aside kefalonia is a relaxing island with beautiful sites to visit. Would be a good idea to hire out a car to tour the island or go on an island tour which u can book through your tour company or privatly in town. This shows you the real kefalonia and gives you a tour of the beautiful island itself! dont miss it! i am going back in august and cant wait.

Oskars the best place for traditional Kefalonian food and excellent entertainment on the island by far.

When you go to Oskars you feel his is with you all night cracking jokes singing and dancing with Glasses of beer balancing on his head.

It will be my forth time visiting Kefalonia this July.

if you want a long walk it is nice to stroll as there are a couple of hotels ans snack bars(Oskars) were you can stop for a drink if you like and you can also go to Fanari lighthouse. as well as do the war memorial,waterwheel, geological phenomenon
The other way is only about 20 minutes walk, or 5 euros in a taxi
we always walked into Argostolli and had a taxi back.

After 3 meals at Oskars we are so pleased to tell that they have been our best meals!

Tucked away on the fanari road, Oskars restaurant is a real treasure to find. The stuff is friendly and efficient and the food is totally delish!!!
Advertising should make it clearer that this is not just a restaurant but a total evening entertainment.

It’s our first time in Kefalonia. We had tried a few restaurants in lassi. When we came across OSKARS we was amazed with the friendly staff who made us very welcome, the atmosphere is welcome and fantastic. It’s a beautifully clean restaurant, the waiters are wonderful and food is excellent.
Hopefully God willing we will be coming back next year to stay at OSKARS apartment.

This was the first time we went to Kefalonia, and it is a beautiful island. Well what can I say about Oskars. Only that is the best place to eat and we returned 3 times for a fabulous meal. The sons of the owner are all so nice. Keep up the good work Oskar. We will be back

I am not happy with the tour rep, because of the poor information she gave us about Kefalonia. She omitted to tell us about the lighthouse, the waterwheel, the unique geological phenomenon Katavothres and the Italian war memorial probably because they are very near to Lassi, within easy walking distance and are all free of charge. Our rep told us to visit Fiskardo and do the island tour, both of which were very expensive. At the welcome meeting she wanted to sell excursions and the expensive hire cars. We hired a car on our own, went to Fiskardo and paid less money than with the tour operator. Fiskardo is a bit far but its worth a visit. The map of Lassi in Oskars booklet was very helpful and Oskars is the best place for food, good service with friendly staff, a great Greek night, the best value in Lassi, and it’s a restaurant with beautiful views. I recommend to everyone to go to the Lighthouse, the waterwheel, the geological phenomenon at Katavothres, the Italian war memorial and of course Oskars.

I know the family “OSKARS” very well, they are very friendly and very hardworking.We also know the restaurant Oskars is very good, for my family the best in Kefalonia. We know this because we have been many times to Kefalonia (18). We know for many years they have many problems with some tour operators who try to sabotage their business by talking nonsense, with very clever and experienced marketing tricks. Tourists who come to Kefalonia for the first time have no experience of OSKARS and so it is easy for tour operators to cause confusion about OSKARS and tell them not to go. Some tour operators are very angry with OSKARS!
If you are new to Kefalonia you won’t understand why, because I have been many times I will explain so that you will know why! OSKARS have a very good website on the internet which is very good for tourists, they advertise other businesses as well this is not good for some tour operators business. They advertise direct bookingof cheaper excursions, car hire, accommodation and information for arranging wedding parties and celebrations. OSKARS would like everyone to book direct with OSKARS (cheaper for customer/ better value) and not book a package with tour operators.
So this is why some tour operators don’t like OSKARAS so don’t wait for your rep to tell you to go to OSKARS. Each year the reps tell the holiday makers what the manager wants them to because that is good for their business. I am sure that the tour operators will continue to try and make problems for OSKARS in the next few years
Please check these comments and stand up for the truth and what is right – visit OSKARS and you will see these comments are true. OSKARS keep up the good work! Your previous guests all love your family and your restaurant.

Our rep from Thomas Cook is a lovely lady. The information that she gave us about Lassi was very good. She gave us an information booklet from Oskars and told us to use the map inside it. This booklet was very informative and helpful to us. Thank you to our rep because she has given us very good information about Oskars on the Fanari Road in Lassi. My family and I have visited the Lighthouse, Waterwheel, geological phenomenon and the Italian War Memorial and we have some lovely photos as souvenirs. We visited Oskars where the food, service, entertainment, restaurant and bar were all wonderful.
Well done to our rep, please keep on giving out this good information about Lassi and Oskars to other holiday makers. The Fanari Road is lovely for walking and Oskars is the best.

I wouldn't recommend that our rep Alex go to OSKARS because he told us not to go. (As a Cypriot man you should know better)!
We would recommend that ALL English people should go to OSKARS for good Greek cuisine. Lamb a la Oskars, Prawn saganaki, stuffed peppers, potatoes au gratin and Beef Greek Style were all excellent!

My family and I have been to Kefalonia for our holidays for the last 10 years because it is a very beautiful island and the people are very friendly.
We have tried many restaurants as well as “Oskars”. We love “Oskars” very much. The family who run it work very hard and are wonderful people, the food has never been disappointing it is always “the best”.
The restaurant is not in the centre of Lassi and many people miss out on a superb night out.
Some tour operators do not respect the integrity of us holiday makers and do not give us the true information! Some of their recommendations are not good. The tour reps are aware of the good restaurants but don’t recommend them because they haven’t made a deal with them!
Stop insulting our intelligence – we pay good money for our holidays and the reps should be working for us “the tourist”.
The main road in Lassi has 15 restaurants and the road to Fanari has 3, a lot of choice, we can make up our own minds about who is the best.
P.S. in our families opinion that is “Oskars” but go and read the menu for yourself see the prices and the place and you will see the truth! Stop giving a bad name to good restaurants because holiday makers who have tried them have proved you wrong and have found out that they are good! Perhaps when I get home I will name the tour company, rep and manager concerned!!!!
Oskars don’t worry forget the tour operators, the holiday makers will recommend you it is better for your business.

I don’t care if it’s the reps or their manager’s fault, but I want my money back, the information which they are saying about Oskars isn’t true. The restaurants recommendations wasn’t good.

i have been to oskars many times before and return every year, i have been coming here for 5 years and simply return because oskars is supurb... not to forget the clean beches in kefalonia...you cant get much cleaner beaches than kefalonian beaches... oskar and his family are great! there is great greek entertainment night on mondays, thursdays and saturdays... this is where professional greek dancer dance for you and get you 2 join in the fun...the food is suprub and there is plentiful... oskars is a family run business very friendly people and makes you feel very welcome on arrival... every year my rep tells me not to go to oskars but i go 2 oskars every time because i know everything about oskars becuase i have seen for myself what the atmosphere is like... and she only recommends places that she gets commision from other resturants... my opinion is for everyone to go to oskars and see what it is like for yourself before anyone else tells you different.

The entertainment was slow to start with after an hour it livened up everyone clapping and dancing and kicking in a circle loving it fab!! My dad got up dancing noooo!!!

I had the pleasure of having three starters. All were delicious. The asparagus augratin was superb. My main course was excellent and the wine very nice. The only thing to come out of 1976, that is better than oskars is my girlfriend. (she told me to say that!!!)

Oskars is as good as Andreas had told us it would be. He was extremely friendly when we met him on the road whilst we were walking nearby, as are all the kefalonians that we have met!!!

Kefalonia and it's people are truly wonderful. We hope it stays the same for many years we would definatly return!!!!! We went at oskars 2 times and we wasn't dissapointed. Night life in kefalonia is amazing and fun especially the greek night at oskars. The beach is lovely and a great holiday for familys.

Our rep told us not to go on the fanari road to the lighthouse because it is a 3 hour walk from dolphini super market.
I did not believe the rep, it was a very nice road, with lovely views and it only took 45 minutes, from the corner by the dolphini supermarket.
I think the reps should have better knowledge, so they can tell holiday makers the correct information.

Why do the reps always tell us to go to Fiskardo - on the trip - it is a long way to go. Lassi is very nice too!
It doesn’t cost anything to go to fanari, to see the lighthouse and katavothres geological phenomenon a good day out and it is free!
Fiskardo is a nice place to visit on the coach or taxi and many people take the trip, you can even use the local buses.

We first came to kefalonia in 1998, then again in 1999 and 2000 and we visited oskars every time. Since 2000 we have visited many other greek islands and we all agreed there was no where as good as oskars for really good night out. My youngest son was six last time he was here and cried when we had to leave oskars!

Our rep from our tour company told our family of 10, that she couldn’t recommend oskars and did not know haw we could find this restaurant.
So we went to another restaurant for mezes and paid 25 euros each, and we did not have a good time.
The next day, our neighbors told us that they had been to Oskars and it was the best in Lassi.
We decided to visit Oskars and we had a very good time and joined in the dancing us well.

Every body should go to Oscars and try the stuffed peppers for 3.50 euros, the prawn saganaki for 6.10 euros and the special Greek meze for 13.50 euros.

I have been to Kefalonia 4 times, each of these times to Lassi. This is because of the clean beaches. On the main road of Lassi, there are a lot of restaurants, the Fanari road has 5 restaurants, if you walk this road you will come across these, the first being, stopsito, the second Chinese dragon, third, Oskars, forth, Capital and last 1900 tavernas. Oskars is the best taverna in kefalonia, because it has a very nice balcony, with a mixture of flowers, a very nice sunset, a very big bar and a very big dance floor. Very, very good food, service, and very Greek entertainment. I recommend to every body to go to Oskars. If you like the Greek entertainment, go to Oskars, if you don’t like it, then I would not recommend it. Oskar makes Greek tricks and Greek blah blah all night, because he wants every body to smile and enjoy their time with him. Oskars restaurant/bar is an original, Greek place.
P.s: we recommend to you that you walk the fanari road to see the best view, and go to the lighthouse so you can have good memories and get some memorable photographs.
p.p.s: the fanari road starts in lassi and carries on past the lighthouse through to Argostoli Square, it is the connection road.

A very enjoyble evening, excellent food and atmosphere. The dancing was very good and very fast-too fast for me. We met Oskar while walking along the road and he invited us to the restaurant. We came for the Greek dancing, which was excellent. Children enjoyed themselves!!! Very good waiters!!!

We would certainly come again, it is a shame we didn't come before but we will come back, maybe next year. The evening is good value and we enjoyed the dancing and joining in with everyone else-a very good atmosphere!

I've just come back from my first holiday in Kefalonia and I must admit that there I spent the most beautiful holiday in my life. The island has wonderful landscapes and beaches, a lot of them aren't very crowded, so you can enjoy them in a quiet and romantic way. I and my boyfriend rent a motorbike and travelled all around the island, from Sami to Kaminia beach. A marvellous experience! The motorbike allows you to really enjoy landscapes and villages, without any parking problems! I really recommend it. Don't miss Myrthos beach and Avithos beach... and sirtaki dancing at Oskar's, of course!

We have just returned home from Kefalonia and miss it so much already. We have never been to such a beautiful island. People very friendly. Oskar's well worth a visit.

Kefalonia is the best place i have ever been to. i have been to kefalonia 4 times with my family. our advice to the other holiday makers is go to kefalonia for the best holiday you can ever imagine. go to antonio beach, platis gialos beach, gradakia beach and makris gialos. they are all really good but, gradakia is the best. the best place to visit for souvenirs and photographs is to take a walk to the scenic coastal fanari road. you will see the light house, the water wheel, the geological phenomenon at katavothres. dont miss this road to see the beautiful sunset from oskars balconies. oskars has the best food, value, atmoshere and the family are just lovely. the staff are so friendly they make you feel so welcome!!

i have been to kefalonia 4 times in the past 2 years as i think it is a beautiful island, and there are so many things to do and see. every night that i have been in kefalonia i have been to oskars as i find it the most entertaining and fun place to be in the evening. there is not one bad word that i can say about it, the entertainment and food is brilliant and the atmosphere is the best. the staff are so friendly and put themselves out to help make you have the best evening of your holiday!! give oskars a go as i am sure you will have the most brilliant night of your holiday in kefalonia as i know i did. just like to thank oskars staff for making my 4 holidays to kefalonia the best all the love in the world claire x x x x

Here we are in Kefalonia again.. 9th time now and always at Oscars, such A superbly run Taverna and Top Notch Apartments too, the ideal location for your stay in Lassi, Sadly we have to fly back to London 2moro but will be back here in 9 weeks. Andreas and his family are the ideal hosts for an evening out or for A 2 week stay.
Other family memebers are in Turkey this week and unfortunatly there week has not been so good, we have been able to keep in touch via Andrea's house phone. The family members that are in Turkey at the moment are going to come to Kefalonia in August to experience Oskars and Lassi, Rock on cant wait... lots of love to you all at Oskars, from one very happy lady x

i have been to kefalonia 8 times now and feel that this is a great place to be. the resturant is great and the senic root back from arogstoli is well worth the visit, as u get to see the lighthouse, the water wheel, the geological phenomenon at katavothres and also the italian war memorial... these are great pictures to take as the sun is setting. great suverniers come to oskars to see for yourself what it is like but my opinion is great. take panoramic view from the balcony at oskars for great pictures to look back on in the near future. oskars gives a warm welcome when arriving. deffinatly worth a night of your holiday, great entertainment and excellent food... its a must.

Kefalonia is like our 2nd home now, as its very addicting! There is so much to do and many trips which are avalible, which are a must to go on! Especailly the glass bottom boat trip!! Its amazing. Lassi is where we stay twice a year and we cant fourt it at all! its perfect. many taverna's to choose from, and very friendly people. i would recommend a visit to long beach, with clear water and golden sand during the day, and restaurant 'oskars' in the evening for a fun and unforgetable night!! walking to oskars along the fanari road is very romantic and relaxing! so dont forget to bring your camara's. you will also past many attractions along the way, like the lighthouse and the water wheel. p.s after a lovely meal at restaurant oskars, you can over look the beautiful sunset from the balcony! enjoy! x

Sitting drinking a coffee after eating in OSKARS Restaurant got me thinking about our regular trip to KEFALONIA and why we do it. This trip we make twice a year – Spring and again in Autumn. Why you may ask? We particularly like early Spring, before the tourist season begins to see the wild flowers. Walking is much pleasanter when it is cooler. Swimming is still possible, some locals swim all year round, but it is better to pick your days, when it is at least warmer, out of the sea than in. The Greek Easter is usually pre-season and with Greek friends is especially worth looking forward to. Friends here are many, but particularly our OSKAR family.
You can’t beat being off the beaten track, up the mountains, exploring deserted villages, re-visiting old haunts and discovering new ones. After twenty years plus, it is never boring.
How do we do it? Read on.
Travelling here is usually from York by train into Manchester Airport using Olympic Airways to Athens and then onwards to the island. The flight normally leaves late evening, arriving Athens early morning. The island flight leaves a little later. Using one carrier has its compensations if flights are delayed. If this happens use it as an opportunity. Get out of the airport and see what you can find. Transport links from the airport are very good. Depending on the length of a delay we usually 1). short stay got to Glyfada 2). longer delay involving evening flight go in to Athens centre. Any odd items of hand luggage not required can be left at Western Union (downstairs in arrivals). For 1). catch regular 20 min. bus outside for Pireaus and get off at the square in Glyfada ( approx. 20 min.). For a few hours sleep, near the square is the basic Hotel Ilion or 5min. away the Hotel Oceanis. Glyfada offers the seaside, good shops, restaurants etc. with easy bus/tram connection into Athens (BUT, allow one hour travelling time). Option 2). More time available take train direct to Athens centre (12 €, 50-60 mins.). Not far away visit atmospheric areas of Plaka and Monastiraki, sit/picnic in National Gardens (near to arrival point Syntagma Square) and see close by Megalo Marmaro (stadium for first Olympics). Want to visit Acropolis? Metro takes you direct to Acropolis station. Remember return to airport takes approx. 60 mins.
Athens merits a longer stay, but an enforced stay is a good opportunity to have a ‘taster’.
Good fun, happy, sight-seeing AND enjoy your holiday in KEFALONIA (KALO TAXIDI)…………

Kefalonia is a large and beautiful island with many places of interest, beaches and restaurants to enjoy. We return year after year and are still making new discoveries.
Lassi is a good place to stay, not too far from the airport, near to the capital Argostoli and central on the island for sight seeing.
Walking along the scenic, Fanari coastal road from Lassi to the lovely Faros lighthouse and the Katavothres water wheel, you can take one of the pathways to the shore and find many little hidden coves. In spring and autumn, the wild flowers are wonderful.
This walk can be done in reverse from Argostoli-remember to take a hat, sun cream and your camera.
Along the way you can stop at 'OSKARS WATERING HOLE' for drinks and light refreshments. If you return to 'OSKARS RESTAURANT' in the evening, you will enjoy the food, the service, the entertainment, the hospitality and the wonderful panoramic views from the balcony as the sun sets.
